Hill Air Force Base is one of Northern Utah’s most powerful economic drivers, employing nearly 27,000 military, civilian, and contract personnel and supporting a combined population of more than 32,500 service members and dependents. According to the 2024 Hill Air Force Base Economic Impact Statement, the base generates an estimated $12.76 billion in total annual economic impact, including $2.1 billion in government payroll, $4.3 billion in annual expenditures, and more than $6.3 billion in indirect economic activity throughout the region. Hill AFB also supports an estimated 67,000 jobs, reinforcing Northern Utah’s strength in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, logistics, and defense-related industries.
