Hill Air Force Base continues to be a powerful economic engine for Northern Utah and surrounding communities, contributing an estimated $12.76 billion to the regional economy in 2024, according to the annual Economic Impact Statement released by the base’s Cost and Economics Division.
The report highlights Hill AFB’s vital role not just in national defense, but also in local economic strength. The base’s total workforce of 26,893—including over 5,600 active-duty military personnel, 913 Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard members, more than 14,000 government civilians, and over 6,200 contract civilians—supports an extended community that includes an additional 5,660 military dependents.
